   Hilary, Palin, and women in high places in our government...so when will one make it to the very top?

   We'll have a woman president as soon as one who is qualified for the job is nominated. Hillary Clinton came close in the last election, and she may run again in 2016, after Obama's second term. One thing's for sure--it won't be Sarah Palin. She's not remotely qualified for  the presidency.

   I do not believe that there are any pressing influences keeping a woman out of the oval office as of right now.  More than anything there is probably an incidence of lower female representation in the political arena, with respect to men. I could see a female democrat before a republican but as circumstances prevail, it shouldn't be far off.
   
   My vote? - Arkansas Senior Senator Blanche Lincoln, in 2020.
   
   Reasons? - 1. Shes one of the youngest 2. She's somewhat centrist (a conservative democrat)

   I think it could happen at any time actually. 2012 could result in a Republican woman winning and 2016 could result in either party having a woman win.

   I agree with Ralph. I think the nation is ready for a female president but we need the right one. Hillary could have done it but she wasn't as cool a choice as Obama and wasn't as good a speaker.

   Your next president will be Sarah Palin,as she takes no s  from anyone and this is what the U.S.government needs,is a shake up.There are to many politicians in government that are over the hill and don't kinow how to run a young country as it is.
   If things don't change there will be a war amongst the people versus the government.

   Soon... I think "We the People" have finally come to the conclusion that women ARE equal to men. Not that men and women are the same, we have different strengths and weaknesses, but taken as a whole we are equals. Women compensate for the weaknesses they have, in much the same way men compensate for theirs. I hope that the First female president is truly extraordinary, a president first, a woman second, that sets the bar higher than it has ever been. Then all we'll need is a female Pope...

   It won't really make any difference when it happens, which could be any time.  Where women have been leaders, they have proven themselves -- to be able to screw up just as bad as men.  Dare I say worse?

    America is great for its great people. If UK is ruled by woman, the largest democratic country India is ruled by woman, the smallest nation Srilanka is ruled by woman, why not the great America will be ruled by woman. Hillary Clinton was about to win the race. There may be other woman in future to come forward for Presidency. It is only a question of time and not anything else.

    2012 -- the super criminal powers that control the U.S. can carry out greater atrocities without as much public resistance if they have a woman to hide behind. Even if they have a black male as the matador's cape, the bull(the american public) will still miss the target. Think about it. Obama has done nothing but expand this bogus war on terror and the public has gone asleep on it as our constitutional rights have almost been completely stripped from us in the name of 'security'. Never forget Ben Franklin's words, "Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither."

    I think it will happen. The UK has experienced a female Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. However this does not seem to have set a precedent and it is still predominately male. However there are number of countries that have had female leaders, I suppose it comes down to the right person for the job. Just because there has not been one in the past does not mean there will be one in the future.

    The first woman president will be congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz who will also be the first woman vice president because i believe the democratic formula for 2012 will  be Obama-Wasserman
